Meet the experienced and friendly doctors who make Vision Source Westview the leading provider of vision care products and services in Houston.

Erica Alfaro, O.D.

Vision Source Westview is very pleased to introduce Dr. Erica Alfaro to our patients. Dr. Alfaro comes to us from the University of Houston college of Optometry where she specialized in fitting contacts and treatment of eye disease. Prior to that she examined patients at the Naval Medical Center in Balboa Park in San Diego. Dr. Alfaro has cared for several diverse groups of patients including Veterans, the legally blind, difficult contact lens patients and has done so with great dedication.

When I was in high school during my annual visits to the eye doctor, I realized more and more that the optometry profession matched my skill set and my desire to help people. While studying at University of Incarnate Word, I worked as a doctor’s assistant at a Vision Source in San Antonio to gain more perspective of the field.

I am currently a preceptor for 4th year optometry students at Good Neighbor Clinic where I help educate and guide graduating student doctors on fine tuning their skills as soon to be real world optometrists. I also participate in a vision program called See to Succeed at Good Neighbor clinic which provides hundreds of eye exams to children in the local area in need of glasses.

I am a member of American Optometric Association ( AOA) and Harris County Optometric Society (HCOS). These groups I participate in help further the profession of optometry and help me get continued education that allows me to keep up to date with the latest treatments in eye disease.

I was born and raised in San Antonio. Go Spurs! I went to Brackenridge high school and University of Incarnate World where I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology. I like to run and participate in marathons and am a big beer fanatic. I have a 4 year old daughter named Sara who keeps me on my toes.

Thanks for visiting our site and I hope to see you soon,

Erica Alfaro

Jonathan Tran, O.D.

Vision Source Westview is very pleased to introduce Dr. Jonathan Tran to our patients. Dr. Tran comes to us from the University of Houston college of Optometry where he specialized in dry eye and contact lens fittings. Prior to that, he examined patients at Northeastern State University Oklahoma in Tahlequah where he got hands on experience using lasers in the treatment of glaucoma and various eye diseases. Dr. Tran’s work history also includes experience with LASIK and cataract surgery procedures where he oversaw the patients surgeries from beginning to end (pre-op to post-op).

Thanks for visiting our site. It is with great pleasure that me and Dr. Alfaro can have an opportunity to see your eyes. For us, eyes are a precious sense that allows us to visualize all things good …and bad. We want to be sure that your eyes are functioning at its best and will ensure that we will be on top of it.

A little about me: I was born in Aurora, Colorado and up until 1994 moved to Houston TX because of my dad’s work with Continental Airlines. I grew up in Jersey Village, went to UT Austin for a year- missed my mom too much and went to University of Houston where I got my undergraduate degree in business administration management. I liked UH so much I even went there for Optometry School. I have been practicing since 2012 and it has been a privilege to serve the Pasadena, Woodlands, and Cypress area.

My specialities are contacts with astigmatism, contacts that help with reading and distance, and trouble shooting those hard to fit contacts. I enjoy performing LASIK evaluations to find out if your a good candidate for LASIK. I want to help patients who have had bad experiences with other eye offices to give them a better experience.

My personal hobbies and interests include anything aviation related, Denver Broncos, Texans, Rockets, Astros, cooking and hanging out in the exam room with patients.

Welcome to Vision Source Westview I hope to get a chance to see your eyes.
